What is so special about Alondra?

Alondra is a very special Classic Yacht, unlike any other yacht in the world, unique in her own right. We have sailed her virtually around the world and back and that experience will directly translate into your stay with us. She’s a true classic; wood with a feel of forgotten splendor yet she has all the equipment of a modern day yacht.
We take you further with exceptional value for money. Sailing a super yacht at the price of a bare-boat.

Equipment includes:
12/220 volt, Airco, TV, DVD, CD, I-Pod, WIFI, Inverter 2500 watt, Wind Generator, Diesel Generator 10 KW, 1000 L fresh water, 1000 L fuel, 15 HP Dingy, Snorkel and fishing gear, full Navigation aids, weather stats, radar, night vision, VHF radio, Epirb, Sat Phone, Ais.

Why sail with us?

We know the Med like the back of our hand, from hidden bays of incredible beauty to the best bars and restaurants, we’ll make sure you experience everything the Med has to offer. No searching, no stock up when you arrive, we’re all ready to go and a fully (informal) crewed yacht takes you wherever where ever you like. Indulge yourself in luxury and wellbeing but we want you to feel at home.
So feel free to take your own drink from the fridge. No crowded parties, no preset route, no obligations to others. You, us and Alondra. A perfect holiday.

Where do we go?

Since we are a private yacht we can go wherever we want. We’ll take you to the most incredible spots, not to collect a commission from anyone but to simply take your breath away. We go to islands, little towns and deserted beaches, explore nature, meet the locals, see ancient sites, give you back ground information and eat out in the most fantastic local restaurants.
And since we have a Dutch (EU) flag we can travel easily between Turkey and Greece (local boats can’t or have a difficult time).
We simply take you further and then some.

Can I use my phone, tablet on board?

Yes, you can.
Although we doubt that you will after two days on board, you are able to use your phone most of the time.
The only exception might be when we cross from one place to another never exceeding a couple of hours.
You can also charge your phone (12/110/220 volt) or any other equipment you have with you such as Ipods, laptops and tablets.
Wifi is available if we can pick up a connection.

Be careful though, laptops and phones cannot swim. Not even remotely. They drown!

Do I need experience?

Not at all!
Alondra’s crew can sail the yacht without any input from you if you prefer it that way. You won’t be in the way so just sit back, relax and enjoy.
However, if you fancy yourself a sailor we’re more than happy to teach you how to handle the boat.
If you are an experienced yachtsman, we’ll happily invite you to take the helm and trim the sails.
She is all yours, sailing her will leave you with memories you’ll never forget.

Is sailing in any way dangerous, and for children?

No, it’s not dangerous at all.
We will never put you, your children (or ourselves) in harms way. We are well experienced, and carefully assess all routes we take, keeping a close watch on the weather. Alondra is fully fitted with all necessary safety gear (According to MCA standards) and our crew is trained in a special First Aid at sea. As for your children, we carefully instruct everyone and make sure your child is safe, if necessary with a life vest and always under close supervision of our crew. Don’t forget, we have our own 4-year-old daughter on board and have sailed with hundreds of kids on Alondra, our track is unbeatable with zero incidents all the years we’ve been chartering.

Do I need Vaccines?

For the areas we sail in you do not need any special vaccines however, you may want to consult your physician before embarking.
All general medicines are on board; we can treat most basic illnesses should they occur. Any prescription drugs can be bought locally.

Do I get seasick?

Not usually.
We carefully plan our routes in a way that makes the sailing fun but not uncomfortable; we don’t want to be next mornings headlining news!
The yacht may heel a bit, but we’re in control and if it gets rough to a point that you may feel a bit uncomfortable we’ll take measures to make you feel more comfortable.

What does it cost?

Since we have no overhead and no expensive marketing budget, you pay about as much as renting a similar size plastic yacht without crew and everything else we offer. Please look at our rates HERE. If you’re coming with just 2 or chartering the entire yacht, we will make you a fantastic offer. Our sailing along program offers the possibility of singles or a couple to sail together with others for a fraction of the price!

Ok, I want to come but how do I book?

Just write us an email with a preferred date.

We normally sail from Saturday 16.00 to Saturday 10.00 but can make special arrangements for you if necessary.
After checking the date we brief you extensively with all the info and answer any questions you may have. This way we also get to know each other a little bit.
After that we send you an invoice with the total amount and preliminary itinerary. A 50% prepayment is obligatory, the rest before the cruise starts.
Simple, no lose ends or surprises.

Edith is happy to assist you in finding the best possible flights to and from the yacht. Please ask!

What do I bring?

No Suitcases!

Please bring soft weekend bags or similar since hard shell cases will limit the available space on board. If you’re staying on Alondra light luggage is the key. The summers are warm and light (informal!) clothing will do perfectly. In the spring, until June and from September onwards you may want to bring a sweater and a jacket. Please bring your own sunscreen lotion and maybe a diving mask or goggles. Snorkel and fishing gear is on board. You do not need to bring any linen. Towels are on board.

I still have questions, what do I do?

Mail or call us.

We aren’t just happy to answer your questions, we enjoy writing and speaking to you! Please remember, we don’t think any question is silly, ask us whatever you want, each question is of equal importance to us.
